The trial-within-a-trial of alleged sex worker killer, Sifiso Mkwanazi, resumes in the High Court sitting at the Palm Ridge Magistrate Court this morning.

The case was postponed yesterday, owing to the absence of Mkhwanazi’s defence counsel called in sick.

Mkhwanazi’s father, Mark Khumalo who was in attendance, made a hasty exit as the matter wrapped for the day.

On Wednesday, the accused accused Mkhwanazi senior of having forced him to confess to murdering the six sex workers, saying he had threatened to cut him off if he refused.

The defence team is expected to make final submissions today, which will be followed by a ruling on the admissibility of the 21-year-old’s confession. Written by Naomi Kobbie
