Bafana Bafana have advanced to the last 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations after playing out to a goalless draw against Tunisia last evening.

Both sides played to the best of their abilities, but failed to produce any goals.

Bafana coach, Hugo Broos, had kept the same team that won against Namibia on Sunday.

The national team, which finish second behind Mali, needed just a point at least to ensure their stay in the tournament.

Bafana have, so far, won one match after beating the Brave Warriors 4-0. They drew one against Tunisia and lost one against group winner, Mali.

Themba Zwane was declared the player of the match.

The South African squad will now move to the next round of the  tournament that’s taking place in Côte d’Ivoire, Ivory Coast. They will face the winner of Group F, Morocco, on Tuesday at 10pm.

Mali, the winner of Group E, will take on Burkina Faso.

Namibia, the DRC and Morocco have also advanced to the last 16. Article by Noni Harris
