Beyonce’s mom comes to her defense, slams skin-bleaching rumours

Beyonce’s mom, Tina Knowles, has hit back at what she’s described as “racist and self-hating” critics following mixed reactions to her daughter’s new blonde hairdo.

The 42-year-old “Drunk in Love” hitmaker was accused of lightening her skin when she went blonde for her recent Renaissance film premiere.

The singer rocked platinum hair and a glittery silver dress.

Some fans were not impressed with the look, with many accusing the singer of skin-bleaching.

Taking to social media to address the hate, Mama Knowles defended the look as a “fashion statement”, urging nay-sayers to stop with the narrative of hate and jealousy.

Today I was disappointed with part of the fan base and the opportunists. Questioning the color of Beyoncé’s skin is terrible violence, I have no words to express my feelings about it. I remembered the song of our king of music.
