The South African Weather Service says relief is on the way for heat-weary Gauteng residents as the current wave is expected to end on Wednesday.
SA Weather Services forecaster, Lehlonolo Thobela, has urged Gauteng residents to avoid direct sunlight, as they withstand the current temperatures.
Some parts of Gauteng have been experiencing temperatures as high as 30 degrees this week.
Thobela says staying hydrated and wearing lighter clothing- can prevent serious health complications.
Other tips for staying cool in the soaring temperatures include opting for cold showers and planning outdoor activities in the coolest part of the day.
Government encourages citizens to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day. For more information and tips, visit: https://t.co/FcPcbPviC5 #Heatwave pic.twitter.com/6WsQzh2Bqa
