Veteran Palestinian leader, Hanan Ashrawi, has called on the US to hold Israel accountable for their actions and stop the attacks on Gaza.

More than 2 000 people have been killed in the Israel-Palestine conflict since fighting Hamas attacked Israel more than a week ago.

Ashrawi says the United States must change its Israel policy and stop providing international legal impunity.

Speaking to international 24-hour news channel, Al Jazeera, she accused the US and Europe of justifying Israeli genocide against Palestinians, which she slammed as totally wrong and inhumane.

Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden will visit Israel this week – in solidarity to the nation following the unprecedented Hamas attacks, which have left thousands destitute.

He will also go to Jordan where he will meet Jordanian King Abdullah II, Palestinian leader, Mahmud Abbas and Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

However, some civilians have taken to protesting and posting social media and are against Biden visiting Israel:

Thousands of Palestinians have been forced to flee their homes in north Gaza ahead of an expected Israeli ground attack against Hamas hideouts.
