Emotions ran high outside the US Consulate yesterday as Palestine and Israeli supporters came face to face.
Hundreds of people gathered outside the US Consulate, demanding an end to the Israeli Occupation of Gaza and the West Bank.
The US is a staunch ally of Israel and the demonstrators want the country to condemn the war against Hamas.
They also want Washington to put pressure on Israel to stop its retaliatory attacks by holding off its support for the Zionist government.
Hamas killed more than 700 Israelis over the weekend and took dozens others hostage. More than 400 Palestinians have lost their lives in retaliatory attacks by the Israeli government.
A Israeli supporter was escorted away by police as tensions continued to flare outside the US Consulate.
As YNews attempted to speak with the man – Palestinian demonstrators demanded that he be removed.

Some members of the South African Jewish community also came out in support of the Palestinian community, many of whom say the atrocities of the holocaust cannot be re-perpetrated by the Israeli government. Article by Naomi Kobbie
