‘Bongani Ntanzi wasn’t at work the day Senzo Meyiwa was gunned down’

The Pretoria High Court has heard how accused number two, Bongani Ntanzi, was not at work the day Senzo Meyiwa was gunned down.

Ntanzi is one of five men currently on trial for Meyiwa’s 2014 murder.

Hendrick Mulder, an HR Manager at Sibanye Gold Mine, took to the stand today – revealing that the accused was fired from the mine in 2016 after failing to show up for an extended period.

Ntanzi had initially told police he was at work on the day of the murder.

Mulder has, however, explained that Ntanzi was not expected to clock in on the 26th of October.

The HR manager is expected to return to the witness box for cross-examination when the trial resumes on Wednesday. Article by Naomi Kobbie
