The SABC has put the brakes on a controversial AfriForum advert following its violation of the public broadcaster’s editorial policy.
The civil action group accused the public broadcaster of gross censorship following its decision not to air the radio ad, which called on donations to file a lawsuit against EFF leader, Julius Malema.
The lawsuit is in an effort to ban the EFF and its supporters from singing the controversial “Kill the Boer” struggle song.
However, the SABC says that in its current form, the advert perpetuates negative stereotypes about black people and so cannot be allowed.
AfriForum CEO, Kallie Kriel says the public broadcaster has shown its true colors by siding squarely with Malema and the EFF.
