Putco passengers have been robbed of their belongings in three separate incidents in Soshanguve this morning.
It is reported that the occupants were held at gunpoint and robbed of their cell phones.
Putco says while one of the company’s drivers sustained a gunshot wound to the hand, all passengers were left unharmed.
The Bus company’s spokesperson, Lindokuhle Xulu, says they’ve reported all three incidents to the police.
“We call on law enforcement agencies to take swift and decisive action to bring the perpetrators of these robberies to book.”
The attack on the buses in the Capital comes a day after an ambulance was hijacked in Nellmapius near Mamelodi.
Members of the emergency services were kidnapped, assaulted and robbed of their personal belongings while responding to a false call.
According to the Gauteng Health Department, the bogus call was registered for a 48-year-old male who collapsed of an unknown condition.
It is reported that members of the crew were stopped by the criminals who forced them to drive to a dodgy area, where they tied them up and fled with the ambulance vehicle.
Officials say that the criminals also used the medical personal’s cards to withdraw money.
