Kaizer Chiefs Head Coach, Arthur Zwane, believes that Orlando Pirates are the favourites going into Saturday’s Nedbank Cup semi-final.
The two Soweto giants will clash at the FNB Stadium for a place in the cup competition’s final against either Stellenbosch FC or Sekhukhune United, who will face off in Sunday’s semi final.
“I think Pirates are doing very well, we’re coming into this game as underdogs. The only thing that’s left for us is to rhythm ourselves and go to FNB with one thing on our mind – to go there to give our best and come out victorious,” says Zwane.
Pirates go into this on a nine-match undefeated run, while Chiefs have lost two of their last three fixtures.
The Nedbank Cup is also Chiefs’ last chance of the season to end their over 7 season long trophy drought.
Chiefs have also won the last five Soweto derbies between the two sides, but Zwane says previous results count for nothing as far as the derby is concerned, “you can’t rely on what you’ve done in the past, we won those games and it talks to preparations, so only time will tell.”
Kick off will be at 3pm on Saturday. Article by Ntsako Mkhari
