Police have confirmed that one of the suspects arrested in connection with the kidnapping and mutilation of Nqobizitha Zulu (5) and Tshiamo Rabanye (6) is a relative to one of the boys. The 50-year-old woman and her 39-year-old partner were nabbed following a forensic investigation at the homes of the two boys.
The couple will appear in the Protea magistrate court on Friday on charges of kidnapping and murder.
The two boys were discovered a few kilometers away from each other on Thursday evening with missing body parts. It is believed that they brutally murdered the boys for muthi purposes.
Zulu’s mother, Nomthandazo, has told our sister channel, eNCA, that she will never forget what she saw when she went to identify her son’s body.
“His head looked like a sliced avocado that had been scooped out, all his facial features were removed, from eyes, nose and mouth, there was nothing left.”
Community members have also since accused the Moroka Police Station of failing citizens and have called for the station to be closed.
Little Zulu and Rabanye’s memorial service is being held at Isiseko Primary School today.
They will be laid to rest on Friday.
