COVID-19 had many countries closing their borders in the wake of the virus. These containment and prevention measures have come a long way as African nations are now welcoming foreign travellers… With restrictions obvs!

YTravels on #YMornings with DJ Ankletap and Kandis Kardashian looked into a few African destinations you could check out this festive…

Egypt

The land of Gold, other than Jozi, reopened its borders for international travel in July. NB: You will be required to provide a negative PCR test taken 72 hours before arrival.

One definite sight to see is the sole survivor of the Ancient 7 wonders of the world, the Pyramids of Giza. Head to Planet Ware for all the amenities and undeniable memories. Perhaps you can help solve the age-old question… How were the pyramids built?

And a selfie with the sphinx… Tick off your bucket list!

Morocco

With restriction lifting, the Northern African country is only accepting travelers with confirmed hotel reservations from visa-exempt countries… Including the US!

With a desert at your doorstep, be sure to catch the eye-opening taste of Morocco’s exotic foods alongside its snake charmers, conjures and souks piled high with hordes of treasures. Not forgetting the endless glasses of mint tea.

Prepare to be amazed in the old historic town of Marrakech Medina.

Tanzania

Home of the oldest and widely known mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania opened its boards to the world as early as June.

Many usually travel to Tanzania to summit the majestic mountain but for those that aren’t really about that, The Mount Kilimanjaro National Park is another way to get up close and personal with Mount Kilimanjaro.

Here are a few things to keep in mind when planning your trip

Now that’s a great way to take a dip in the African sand!
