Covid-19 has not only challenged our physical but also our financial health. With South Africa’s lockdown restrictions easing as time goes, the same may not be said about its lasting effects on the economy and South African citizens’ pockets.
Absa Money Wellness, every Monday on The Best Drive, will help you navigate your finances successfully with tips on basic money management in order to see us continue the journey to financial freedom.
For the next five weeks, we’ll be sitting with Mapalo Makhu every Monday after 5pm on #TheBestDrive with DJ Sabby and Altovise. She believes that the effect money has on one’s life can be drastic but this doesn’t mean the change in our behaviours has to be. Simple methods can be applied to constantly better one’s relationship with money.
The first theme of this series is: ‘Tips to survive the immediate effects of the Covid-19 crisis’, to which Mapalo’s response has been that saving money has been her saving grace. Diligence and a commitment to saving is the key to enhancing one’s personal finance. She also reminds us that going back to the basics isn’t a waste of time, starting small can be easy and that the real change is in simplicity.
Listen to the interview below and tune in every Monday from 5pm on #TheBestDrive to be a part of the Absa Money Wellness conversation.
