Popular influencer and makeup guru, Mihlali Ndamase sparks a heated conversation on Twitter and in no time, tops the trends list once again.

This all unfolded after Mihlali posted a video on her popular Youtube channel, of a “Get Ready With Me” video in collaboration with BBC Brit promoting the latest season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. The show recently started airing on DSTV (BBC Brit TV).

In the video, the Youtube star gives a detailed step by step guide on creating a full glam Drag makeup look, in which she says was inspired by Rupaul’s Drag Race alumni and fan favourite, Cheryl Hole.
With the complete look, Ndamase served over lined and puckered red lips, a defined cut crease, statement lashes, and a bold cat eye.

However, the Twitter streets had a lot to say about her gig. The Youtube video divided Twitter as some were completely against the influencer’s attempt at creating the drag look, and some were in support.

Mihlali stans, AKA “Bahlalis” came to her defence and were quick to call out the haters, instructing them to unfollow or block, and move on.

Some stans were optimistic about the dragging, in saying that the more people talk, the bigger her money bag will get.

While members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies pointed out that Mihliali cannot be representing a community that she is not a part of. They wish instead that BBC Brit TV campaign was handed over to the many existing Drag artists that South Africa has.

So, are you team yay or nay for the drag? And by drag, we mean it both ways.
