Bianca and Charlene have to live with the difficult challenge of being a married queer and interracial couple in South Africa for almost 10 years, which as you would imagine, could not be an easy feat.
Bianca adds, “We were only dating for six months before getting married.”
The couple also mentioned that they met through a mutual ex-partner.
To add the couple have biological daughter ‘Zana’, who is only six months old and was conceived through artificial insemination. Unlike Petunia Monogai who is single, queer and took the adoption route to motherhood.
Being an interracial couple, they expressed that they would not raise Zana with any racial prejudice and not see colour and the difference in between her families.
The couple added that being an interracial couple is something that is only seen by the outer public and that in their own personal space there’s no tension that comes to the fore based on race and that it helps them live harmoniously.
The couple mentioned that they took an unorthodox route when informing their families about their relationship, by getting married before letting their families know about their relationship.
