The Daily Show host Trevor Noah made history as the first African comedian to sell out the world class venue; Madison Square Garden with his “Loud and Clear” tour.

The “Son of Patricia” author added his name to the list of comedians who have sold out the world-class venue, amongst the greats of Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock and Kevin Hart.

From launching his career as a radio jock, anchoring his show “Noah’s Ark” on YFM; to making grand strides globally as the host of American satire and comedy show “The Daily show”; Noah is truly one of South Africa’s greatest exports.

Trevor’s journey at YFM

Podcast Prince of “Podcast and Chill”,  Mac G looks back at some of the moments he’s shared with Noah. “I last saw Trevor in the parking lot on his last day at YFM when he mentioned to me that he was leaving radio to focus on his comedy career. Since then, he has gone on to achieve so many many great things. Moreover, Trevor is a true example of how it is possible to achieve big dreams, no matter where they begin.” said Mac G.

We spoke to Bondo Ntuli, also popularly known as Big Black, who was YFM’s programming manager during Trevor’s tenure at the station. Ntuli had a first hand experience with the international star. “I discovered Trevor through demo tapes of new potential Dj’s like Mo Flava and other industry greats at the time. He went on to present Noah’s Ark from 12am to 3am. It was during this time that he was featured at the Blacks Only Comedy Show, which catapulted his career in comedy to new heights.” said the broadcasting giant.

Ntuli’s message to Trevor is “Right on brother! You are on the path that you are meant to be on. I want no less for you, I want more. You are the man of the moment, I would love to catch up over a cup of coffee to reminisce.”

Taking to social media, Noah said he didn’t want the memorable night to end.
