Podcast and Chill has been caught in a legal storm after the Johannesburg High Court granted an interim interdict barring the publication or distribution of statements linking businessman, Solomon Madibela, popularly known as MySol, to alleged criminal activity.
Madibela approached the court after his alleged former associate, Benjamin “Benji” Maponya, made a series of allegations about him during an interview with Macgyver “MacG” Mukwevho and co-host, Sol Phenduka, on Thursday.
The court order restrains Mukwevho, Maponya and anyone acting on their instructions from publishing or distributing the allegedly defamatory statements on the podcast or any other platform.
It also orders Maponya to remove posts about Madibela and his company that the court considers defamatory from his X account within two hours of being served with the order.

During the interview, Maponya allegedly accused Madibela of controlling factions within the South African Police Service (SAPS) in North West.

Maponya claimed that when they first met about five years ago, the people who introduced them had warned him that Madibela was a criminal. He said he chose to overlook the allegations because of the close relationship they subsequently developed.
He also alleged that tensions arose within the Villages, Townships and Small Dorpies Chamber of Commerce (VTSD), where provincial chairman, Robert Ngwenya, allegedly wanted Madibela removed over claims that he was sowing divisions.
Maponya further recounted how he and Madibela allegedly established the N4 Cluster, which secured service contracts at the SAMANCOR mine after they protested against the unbundling of services previously held by a single company.
Describing Madibela, as his “sidekick”, Maponya claimed the businessman drove him to and from meetings with the mine.
He said their business relationship later extended to an opencast mining operation involving his company, B Maponya Holdings, and VJ Coals, which was subsequently liquidated.
According to Maponya, the mine instructed him find another technical partner, prompting him to bring in Madibela, whom he described as experienced in coal blasting and mining operations.
Maponya claimed Madibela took charge of day-to-day operations while he played a less active role. He said the money he received from the venture ultimately fell short of his expectations, with the dispute escalating after he invoiced for R72,000.
The interim order against Mukwevho and Maponya will remain in force pending the return date on 22 October, when they are required to show cause why it should not be made final.
Madibela also has until 13 October to supplement his court papers.

The two hours set by the High Court MacG to remove the interview about MySol has come and gone.
At 21h56, the interview had reached over 203 000 views.
It’s still there.
The Court order was made when the interview was less than 90k views.
MacG wants to monetize first and then delete it
My take s he will delete it tomorrow morning when it has reached over 500 000 views. Made enough money to pay for any legal costs that may ensue from leaving it there beyond 2hrs
