Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, has criticised King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo for what she describes as the spread of misinformation.

Ntshavheni says the King is incorrect to suggest that South Africa requires a referendum to determine its foreign policy stance, noting that the country has never used referendums for such decisions.

She further linked his comments to narratives originating in the United States and organisations such as AfriForum.

King Dalindyebo as come under fire for his pro-Israel remarks and for attacking the government’s position on the Israel–Gaza conflict.

He has accused the state of misleading the public and of supporting the Palestinian cause without first conducting an independent fact-finding mission.

He recently travelled to Israel as part of a delegation hosted by Ithe country’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Gideon Sa’ar.

During the visit, he met former captives and toured communities affected by the 7 October 2023 attacks.

Some South Africans have criticised the King for adopting positions that openly contradict the government’s stance.
