Content creator and influencer, Honour Zuma, popularly known as Cyan Boujee, has come under fire following her apology over the controversial Alabuga Start program in Russia.

The 24-year-old’s apology follows widespread criticism for promoting a program, which many believe may be linked to a trafficking operation targeting young South African women.

The Alabuga Start program is marketed as a two-year opportunity for young women abroad. However, it is currently under investigation by Interpol amid suspicions of human trafficking and alleged involvement in drone production for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Cyan Boujee, along with several other local influencers, had publicly endorsed the program on social media.

In her apology video, she described the incident as a learning curve for herself and other influencers, drawing mixed reactions online — with many calling the apology insufficient and irresponsible.

“Human trafficking is a serious matter, and I do not stand with that. I believe this is a huge learning curve for me and the other influencers,” she said.

I am aware of how serious the situation is, and the team is in communication with the program. I am awaiting a response before releasing another statement, which will include more details. 🫱🏿‍🫲🏿
