Sekhukhune United captain, Linda Mntambo, has urged his former teammate Sipho Mbule to “take care” of himself at his new club, Orlando Pirates, wishing him great success.
Mbule, who has a reputation of ill-discipline, joined Pirates as a free agent a few weeks ago after Mamelodi Sundowns decided against renewing his contract.
The 26 year old midfield maestro spent last season on loan at Sekhukhune.
“I’ve only congratulated him, wished him well. He’s a good footballer. I won’t lie, I am a fan of his talent and what he’s capable of doing. Hopefully, he gets there at Pirates and takes care of himself. I want to see him winning,” said Mntambo.
Mntambo, who spent three years at Pirates before joining Sekhukhune in 2022, added that he’s rooting for Mbule to flourish at his former club.
“Before he joined us here at Sekhukhune, he told me that he wanted to come over and I told him that this team was the best platform for him to shine. Unfortunately, things didn’t go well for him here, but now I hope he does well at Pirates. He must repay the people who’d pay any amount of money to watch him, like me,” said Mntambo.
Mbule could play his first competitive game for Pirates as early as next week when the Buccaneers take on Polokwane City in the MTN 8 quarterfinals.
