Veteran artist Goodwill Malinga’s fans have come out in his support on social media after an upcoming artist from Soshanguve, Pretoria, accused him of stealing his song.
The young artist, Khutsi Sdumane alleges that the “Casanovahitmaker did not only steal the song but also released it as hiw own.
Sdumane has shared videos on his social media detailing the events that led to the day he realised that Malinga had allegedly stolen his song.
He says he is disappointed at the legend, popularly known as Dr Malinga, whom he met last year and was grateful for the opportunity as he looked up to him.
@khutsi_sdumane #Malinga was told that the song belongs to me, but he said it’s a hit and I’m a small boy. #2025 #f #fyp #kasilifestyle #pretoriatiktok #musica #unknown ♬ original sound – Khutsi Sdumane

Malinga’s fans are, however, having none of this.

They are now accusing Sdumane of trying to gain clout by using the Kwaito artist’s name.

The controversy comes just days after the “Vaya Orlando hitmaker shared a video of himself buying his wife a car for over R1 million as an early Valentines’ Day present.

That special moment was, however, also dampened by some social media users, who questioned where he got the money for the expensive car, not too long after he asked the public for donations.
In 2022, Malinga opened up in an interview with ‘Podcast and Chill with MacG’ that he owed the South African Revenue Service (Sars) over R100 000.
Shortly, he trended on X and social media users opened their wallets to help him pay off the debt.
