Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has named a 38-man preliminary squad for next month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Bafana are in Group K alongside Uganda, Congo and South Sudan, kicking of their campaign against the Cranes of Uganda on 6 September at the Orlando Stadium.

They will then travel to South Sudan for their second encounter just four days later.
Broos named a few new faces in the squad, including Vitesse FC striker Simon van Duivenbooden after and Orlando Pirates’ midfielder Thalente Mbatha. Meanwhile, IFK Varnamo midfielder Luke Le Roux has also returned to the fold.
New Kaizer Chiefs signing Rushwin Dortley is also in the squad and is joined by teammates Bruce Bvuma and Given Msimango.
Broos charges will be eager to qualify for the continental showpiece after they finished third in the previous edition in Cote d’Ivoire.
Bafana were last in action in a Group C World Cup qualifier double-header where they secured an important 1-1 draw away to Nigeria on 7 June. Before a 3-1 win over Zimbabwe on 11 June in the Free State.
