Economic Freedom Fighters leader, Julius Malema, has slammed the ANC government for blaming the Joburg CBD building fire on apartheid and foreign nationals.
He was reacting to Social Development Minister, Lindiwe Zulu’s remarks regarding the tragedy.
Malema says the governing ANC allowed the building to collapse, degenerate and succumb to hijack, and is now turning around and blames its demise on other factors.
At least 77 lost their lives after the hijacked building they were living in caught fire last week.
Malema blasted Zulu for “always reminding South Africans” that she fought against the apartheid regime.

The leader of The red berets made the remarks at the EFF’s Election Workshop in Birchwood Hotel, Ekurhuleni.

He also used the workshop to reignite the fire of the party’s plan to reign supreme in the 2024 hotly contested elections.

In his bold fashion, Malema told attendees that the party’s spokesperson, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, will be the premier of Gauteng.

“You want to be anything Dr Ndlozi, (I don’t know), prepare to be Premier in Gauteng. Not anything less than that.”

The EFF recently gained international traction following its 10th birthday celebrations at the FNB Stadium in Joburg on the 29th of July.

Malema used the opportunity to laud the party members who contributed to ensure that the party’s birthday went well.
Malema says their efforts do not go unnoticed as their commitment has continued their vision to keep pushing for next year’s elections.
