In yet another twist in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial – a cellphone data expert has revealed that information had been deleted from Kelly Khumalo’s phone, hours after the football star was killed.
Police investigator, Lambertus Steyn, had been tasked with retrieving the cellphone records of all those implicated in the footballer’s murder.
He says Khumalo’s phone was wiped and rebooted, just hours after the footballer was gunned down in what is believed to have been a botch robbery at her then family home in Vosloorus, in Ekurhuleni.
Steyn also linked Khumalo, who was Meyiwa’s girlfriend at the time, to accused no 5, Fisokuhle Ntuli.
He says the singer received two calls from Ntuli in the months leading up to the footballer’s murder.
Each call lasted for over a minute.
The calls were made in August and October of 2014.
We don’t want a cellphone record between Kelly Khumalo and “accused 5”,
We want the record between Kelly Khumalo and Chicco Thwala.#SenzoMeyiwaTrial
