Fresh from being crowned champions of the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season, Mamelodi Sundowns have yet another big task ahead of them this weekend.

They will face Wydad Casablanca on Saturday afternoon in the second leg of their CAF Champions League semi-final encounter at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.

The Brazilians managed to hold the defending champions to a goalless stalemate in Casablanca last week, giving them the psychological advantage for Saturday’s 3pm kick off.

The winners of the game will face either Al Ahly or Esperance who face off again on Friday in the second leg of their match.

Ahly won the first leg 3-0.

Speaking to the media, Sundowns defender Aubrey Modiba said they will have a game plan.

“We know what we’re capable of doing. If we can play the way we’ve been playing, I think we can be able to do well on the day. We just have to enjoy the moment and okay the way we’ve been playing.”

Masandawana will be looking to fill Loftus as they look to make it into the continental cup finals.

Fans wearing any Sundowns regalia or in yellow will be allowed to enter the stadium for free.

Sundowns will be without midfielders Neo Maema and Marcel Allende who received red cards in the first leg of the semis in North Africa. Article by Ntsako Mukhari
