YFM, Gauteng’s biggest youth station, will shine a light on the very important conversation of HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and how the medical industry has evolved to continue managing them.

HIV and STIs can be contracted by anyone and yet, still today, the conversation is stigmatized within South African communities, places of work and between friends.

Sponsored by As’bangene, Let’s Do This! A movement which encourages young people to make healthy lifestyle choices, the conversation is set to focus on HIV and the various types of STI-related diseases/infections that can be contracted and how these can be treated and possibly even cured.

Special guests will look at the evolution of the medical industry, affordable medical treatment for all HIV and STI-related conditions and medical aid related matters.

Says presenter of the episode, Busisiwe Gumede, “It’s been about 16 years since antiretroviral therapy was rolled out in the public health sector across South Africa. So much has changed since then. I’m looking forward to hearing from experts and people living with HIV in this week’s edition of Perspective on Y.”

Perspective On Y is a fortnightly two-hour show that is produced by YFM content producers, who rotate on a monthly basis. The show stands out in its limitless way of sharing information and dares to be different.

Perspective On Y will be live on YFM, on Thursday 17 September from 7pm until 9pm.

Make sure to tune into YFM on 99.2 or via streaming on www.yfm.co.za, the YFM app or DStv channel 859.
