Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema, says the door remains open for Mbuyiseni Ndlozi to return to the party, but firmly shut for his former deputy, Floyd Shivambu.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the public broadcaster, Malema said he would “roll out the red carpet” for Ndlozi should he choose to rejoin to the EFF.<\/p>\n

Ndlozi, one of the EFF\u2019s founding members, resigned in February last year after being accused of involvement in alleged MK Party infiltration and of failing to inform the party\u2019s leadership about Shivambu\u2019s planned exit.<\/p>\n

Malema insisted that Ndlozi has never degenerated from the party’s core values.<\/p>\n

“If Mbuyiseni Ndlozi was to come to the EFF tomorrow, I would put a red carpet for him, because yes, he’s one of the few who conducted himself in a very different manner. I know for a fact that once they leave the EFF,\u00a0\u00a0they start behaving like they are potential patients of a mental hospital,” Malema said.<\/p>\n

Malema contrasted Ndlozi\u2019s conduct with that of former members who, he said, publicly aligned themselves with rival parties.<\/p>\n

“Mbuyiseni Ndlozi never took a T-shirt of another political party. So the constitution of the EFF is clear. Once you leave the EFF and put on a T-shirt of another political party, you cannot come back, because the EFF is not holding in where you do check-in, check-out,” he added.<\/p>\n

While Malema says he is open to Ndlozi’s return, the now radio host said he was taking a break from party politics.<\/p>\n

“I have left the EFF. I have left party politics. EFF is a political party,” Ndlozi said. “I have handed over\u00a0my resignation as a member. I have taken a decision to step away completely from party\u00a0politics. I’m leaving party politics.”<\/p>\n

“I think I’ve made my contribution in that space. We don’t live in a one-party state. We’re not in the camps. We’re not banned. Politics are a free activity in South Africa.”<\/p>\n
