More drama has unfolded in the ongoing Senzo Meyiwa<\/a> murder trial after police removed several individuals from the public gallery and took them in for questioning and profiling.<\/p>\n

It is alleged that the group attended proceedings with the intention to target and possibly harm key state role players.<\/p>\n

It has also emerged that the group of men who were questioned had been accompanying defence witness Sifiso Gwabini Zungu to court.<\/p>\n

Police have confirmed that a case of conspiracy to commit murder has been registered, and security and intelligence measures have been heightened.<\/p>\n

This incident adds yet another layer of turbulence to the already protracted case, which has seen courtroom chaos before.<\/p>\n

In 2022, police officers stormed into the courtroom and arrested defence lawyer Advocate Malesela Teffo mid-proceedings.<\/p>\n

Teffo later accused former Police Minister Bheki Cele of orchestrating the arrest for politically motivated reasons.<\/p>\n

Judge Ratha Mokgoatleng was expected to deliver judgment on the possible trial-within-a-trial today, but proceedings had to be adjourned.<\/p>\n

This latest drama comes hot on the heels of explosive testimony from Zungu, who denied making a statement attributed to him by the state.<\/p>\n

According to the state, Zungu had previously claimed he was hosting the accused at a Vosloorus hostel on the day Meyiwa<\/a> was killed.<\/p>\n

The defence is now challenging the state to prove the authenticity of the disputed statement.<\/p>\n

Public frustration continues to mount, with many South Africans taking to social media to criticise repeated delays and the apparent lack of transparency that has plagued the Meyiwa case for years.<\/p>\n
