Gauteng residents have been warned to expect possible traffic disruptions across the province as South Africa prepares to host the G20 Leader’s Summit this weekend.<\/p>\n

Traffic in Pretoria and Ekurhuleni is also expected to be affected, with full road closures already in place around Nasrec.<\/p>\n

JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla says officers remain on high alert and are monitoring major routes, including the R21 and R24, which are being used by many of the international delegates arriving in the country.<\/p>\n

“On Nasrec road we’ve got a limited and soft closure. That’s from the N17 traffic circle to the Shaft 17 Road and then of course a full closure between Shaft 17 and Rand Show Road. We are also monitoring other areas within Johnnesburg. There are protest marches which have been happening aswell. We are also monitoring roads which are being used by heads of states, mainly the R21 and R 24 routes,” Fihla said.<\/p>\n
