{"id":31120,"date":"2025-06-13T15:03:40","date_gmt":"2025-06-13T13:03:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yfm.co.za\/devworld\/?p=31120"},"modified":"2025-06-13T15:03:40","modified_gmt":"2025-06-13T13:03:40","slug":"bergview-principal-lays-charges-against-malema-and-mbalula-over-cwecwe-rape-claims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yfm.co.za\/devworld\/2025\/06\/13\/bergview-principal-lays-charges-against-malema-and-mbalula-over-cwecwe-rape-claims\/","title":{"rendered":"Bergview principal lays charges against Malema and Mbalula over Cwecwe rape claims"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-31123\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yfm.co.za\/devworld\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/cwecwe.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"558\" height=\"680\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The principal of Bergview College in Matatiele, Jaco Pieterse, says his whole existence has been affected by the allegations that he is linked to the rape of 7-year-old Cwecwe.<\/p>\n<p>The incident drew national and international outrage after the child\u2019s mother revealed in a podcast that her daughter was allegedly raped on school grounds in October last year.<\/p>\n<p>Today, Pieterse, supported by his legal team from AfriForum, laid charges of crimen injuria against ANC Secretary-General, Fikile Mbalula, EFF leader, Julius Malema, and Eastern Cape Education MEC Fundile Gade.<\/p>\n<p>Pieterse and AfriForum accuse the three politicians of defaming him by publicly and falsely accusing him of rape.<\/p>\n<p>The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) later dropped the case, citing insufficient evidence for a successful prosecution last month.<\/p>\n<p>The NPA&#8217;s decision came on the back of Police Minister Senzo Mchunu&#8217;s revelations that there were no witnesses in the case and no foreign DNA had been found on the little girl.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this, Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and People with Disabilities, Sindisiwe Chikunga, previously revealed that<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yfm.co.za\/devworld\/2025\/04\/25\/more-questions-than-answers-in-cwecwes-rape-case\/\"> a medical report indicated Cwecwe had been raped multiple times<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Pieterse says this should serve as a lesson for people to refrain from making unfounded\u00a0allegations on public platforms.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is life changing.
