Proteas <\/span>head <\/span>coach <\/span>Shukri <\/span>Conrad <\/span>has <\/span>staunchly <\/span>defended <\/span>fast <\/span>bowler <\/span>Kagiso <\/span>Rabada <\/span>after <\/span>the <\/span>player <\/span>tested <\/span>positive <\/span>for <\/span>a <\/span>banned <\/span>substance <\/span>earlier <\/span>this <\/span>year. The said substance is reported to be cocaine.<\/span><\/p>\n Rabada <\/span>served <\/span>a <\/span>one-<\/span>month <\/span>suspension <\/span>starting <\/span>April <\/span>1st <\/span>for <\/span>the <\/span>offence.<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>seemingly <\/span>lenient <\/span>sanction <\/span>for <\/span>the <\/span>29-<\/span>year-<\/span>old <\/span>has <\/span>sparked <\/span>criticism. <\/span>However, <\/span>Conrad, <\/span>who <\/span>named <\/span>Rabada <\/span>in <\/span>his <\/span>15-<\/span>man <\/span>squad <\/span>for <\/span>the <\/span>World <\/span>Test <\/span>Championship <\/span>final, <\/span>is <\/span>confident <\/span>that <\/span>the <\/span>matter <\/span>was <\/span>handled <\/span>by <\/span>the <\/span>book.<\/span><\/p>\n “So, I’ve been engaging with KG ever since I’ve learnt about it.
