With only <a href=\"https:\/\/africacheck.org\/factsheets\/guide-rape-statistics-in-south-africa\/\">3.9% being reported<\/a>.<\/h4>\n<p>To this day, rape is a never-ending battle with the common notion that the South African Justice system is not doing enough.<\/p>\n<p>Author of the book &#8216;My Father Took Away My Innocence, purified and sanctified at last&#8217; Zizo Apelani sat down with Khutso Theledi on #KrunchWithKhutso and opened up about how she survived rape.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h4>&#8220;Everything was there, but I could not see it.&#8221;<\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8211; Apelani explains why she had blamed herself for the rape first.<\/p>\n<p>Tweeps supported Apelani:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Haven&#39;t encountered such as a child but to those who did, I think forgiveness is key.
