Amakhosi and Izinduna have advised expelled MK party leader Jabulani Khumalo, to increase his security.

This comes as infighting in the Mkhonto we Sizwe party, continue to escalate.

In a statement, the group of leaders under the umbrella of Injeje yabeNguni Council, says Khumalo is seen as an enemy to them because of his actions.

“His actions are interpreted as a direct attack on land reform that will see the true landlords reclaim the land of their forefathers. Khumalo’s actions have demonstrated beyond reasonable doubt that he now has a parachuted sense of self-importance which has no basis in reality.”

The Amakhosi have declared Khumalo person-non-grata (unwelcome person) following his continued bid to have former president Jacob Zuma removed as the face of the newly formed party on the ballot ahead of the May 29 elections.

Injeje says it came to this decision after receiving complains about Khumalo’s conduct.

Khumalo is accused of trying to destabilise the MK Party and is allegedly in the pocket of the ANC.

Speaking to YNews, Injenje spokesperson, Indunankulu Phumlani kaMfeka, says Khumalo must also limit his movements in areas where he’s not welcome.

While Khumalo is yet to respond to Injenje’s assertions, he is adamant that he is the MK Party ‘founder.’

Khumalo claims that Zuma ascended to the position of party president unlawfully.

The IEC has, however, distanced itself from the controversy, saying it does not involve itself in the internal affairs of political parties and will await communication on a way forward from Zuma since he is the registered leader of the party.

Throwing their weight behind the MK Party’s bid to win a two-thirds majority in the upcoming elections, Injenje says Khumalo has over-estimated his importance.

Indunankulu Phumlani kaMfeka says they support the MK Party’s bid to win a two-thirds majority in the upcoming elections as it has their best interests at heart.

The council also expressed concern over allegations that the ANC paid some IEC officials to ensure that they get 53% of the votes.

Indunankulu Phumlani kaMfeka says the allegations need to be investigated, urgently.

The MK party remains adamant that Jabulani Khumalo is not the founder of the party.

MK Party spokesperson, Nhlamulo Ndhlela, says Khumalo was apparently only sent to register the party as former president Jacob Zuma had initially clearly stated that he would take over as time went on.

Khumalo was expelled from the party last month alongside other members for allegedly destabilising the party.

He is also accused of being an ANC spy and misusing party funds.

Social media has also been abuzz over this matter:
