Written by on 18th Nov 2019

From developing software in King William’s Town, Eastern Cape, to scooping one of the most coveted singing crowns in the country.

Singing may have been a hobby but becoming a musician is Luyolo Yiba’s newest reality.

Week in and week out, Luyolo repeatedly captured the nation’s heart and has now been crowned Idols South Africa Season 15’s winner at Big Top Arena in Carnival City.

Speaking at a press conference, he said that it shouldn’t matter where you come from,  go forth and pursue your dreams and explore your talents.

Following the Springboks winning the Rugby World cup captained by Xhosa man, Siya Kolisi and Luyolo’s Idols win, conversations on #Xhosa and #Tribalism sparked:

Responding to these tweets:

“I believe that tribalism is not good, I really don’t support it.”

– Luyolo said on #KrunchWithKhutso

Yiba further debunks the #Tribalism rants with his new single “Sunshine through the rain”, which now sits at number 2 on iTunes.

“Whatever that is happening now that is bad, it will be replaced by good. It is definitely for everyone.”

– Luyolo added.
